I visit a lot of wedding message boards. Us bridey types do love to talk. And worry. Countless posts start out with "I'm so afraid that..."
What is the #1 thing we worry about? Depends on the board you visit.
If you read theknot's message boards, you'll encounter a lot of: "How can I make sure my guests don't wear tacky outfits?" and "Oh, girl, do not send a woman with PMS to Sam's. He's going to get home tonight and wonder why we have a 5 lb tub of Cheetos..."
Theweddingchannel.com posters say things like: "Now let me just say: I kicked 3 bridesmaids out of my wedding, so I hear you! " ...all while an endless loops of LeAnn Rimes and other wedding ads drive you batty. My main worry on that site was losing my mind.
My personal favorite is IndieBride.com. This is a board not for the faint of heart. Or maybe it is. Yes, there are lots of threads devoted to unconventional, tradition-flouting topics. (Polygamy anyone?) There's certainly the faint whiff of rebellion on these here boards.
But then why are the fear-based threads among the most viewed? "Second Thoughts" is one of the hottest boards on the site. This is where people talk about the worst wedding fear there is - whether or not he's the one. There is even a thread called "unsure about fabulous almost-fiance" Ick, poor girl. That's got to feel horrible.
Assuming "Is he or isn't he?" is not your #1 worry - what DOES scare you the most about your wedding?
