    Pretty, pretty pearly girl.

We talked about bridal hair, and moved down to the makeup, and now it's time to talk jewelry.

    Bridal bling, if you will.Pearls.jpg

Maybe I'm just a child of the glammo 80s, but I really love pearls. I think there is nothing more delicately elegant than a substantial pearl choker with a strapless wedding gown. (Said the woman who wore a substantial pearl choker with her strapless wedding gown.)

Some people consider pearls to be grannyish and fuddy duddy. These are people who don't know how to wear pearls correctly. Would I ever pair pearls with a turtleneck and cardigan? No.

Then again I doubt I'd ever wear a turtleneck and cardigan, period. But anyway.

Pearls looped, draped and loosely bundled can be youthful, sexy, even retro-hot. And they're the one jewel you can gather up and layer and it will just look better and better, vs. tacky and tackier. (Imagine ropes of rubies around your neck. Or even plain gold. Hi Mr. T!)

Pearls are the perfect wedding accessory I think. Where do you land on the burning pearl controversy? Love or hate?
