Image by Namaesokombii on Wikimedia CommonsIt has taken a great amount of time to plan the most beautiful wedding. The bride will look stunning in her dress. The perfect bridesmaid dresses have been found. The groom and groomsmen will be incredibly handsome in their attire. The question now is what about a flower girl or girls? How can they add to the beauty of the special day?

How many flower girls?

Unfortunately, this is not an easy question to answer. There can be as many or as few as you choose. There is no wedding rule that is written in stone, when pertaining to flower girls. The number will depend greatly on how many little girls are in your family, and immediate group of friends. It will also depend on your vision of your wedding. Do you want one flower girl, to pair with the ring bearer? Or do you want a whole bunch of cute little girls to share in your day? One or two flower girls are typically the number of little girls in a wedding party. Flower girls are usually in the age range of 3 to 6 years old.

Flower girls add extra beauty

Flower girls add an extra beauty element to the day. There is something wonderful about the child-like quality that they bring to the day. They add an element of charm, walking down the aisle, dressed in their finest clothes. Guests will think that the little ladies are absolutely beautiful. The camera will love them as well. There will be many beautiful photos of the youngest wedding attendant.

Dresses for flower girls

Flower girl dresses are usually a smaller version of the bridal gown. A beautiful white dress, with a colored sash, that matches the bridesmaids’ dresses would be a lovely choice. It is important to choose a dress that fits in with the wedding. A blue dress may look beautiful on the young lady, but may not fit into the wedding. Also if you are having a formal wedding, the flower girl’s dress needs to be a formal dress as well. The flower girl’s job is to add to the beauty of the day, not take away from it. The dress needs to be soft and as comfortable as possible. You do not want the flower girl constantly scratching and pulling at the dress. The dress also needs to be short enough, so she does not trip or fall.

The importance of the flower girl

From the bride’s perspective, the flower girl has a bigger importance than most people realize. Watching the beautiful little girl walking ahead of you down the aisle is a way for the bride to say good bye to her childhood. This is the bride’s time to reflect on her past and get excited about her future. The miniature bride represents what was, and the bride represents what is yet to come. As for the flower girl, this is a glimpse into her future and what it will be like when she is the bride.
