5 Important Things To Remember Before You Start Hunting For A Wedding Dress

One of the best things about getting married is wearing a gorgeous wedding dress. It's possibly the fanciest thing you will ever wear in your life, so you want it to be perfect. This usually ends in a disaster because most women get far too stressed out. We want to make your experience as painless as possible, so we're going to give you a few tips that will help you to find the perfect dress. Don't forget about these because they will make your life so much easier.

Leave most of your friends at home

You might think it's a good idea to drag all your bridesmaids with you when it's time to go dress shopping, but you should leave most of them at home. You really don't need half a dozen people giving you their opinion on the most important dress you will ever buy because it will just confuse you. Decide on the two people whose opinion you value the most and take them with you. If they can't help you decide on the perfect dress then no one will be able to.

Close your eyes until nearer the time

When you walk past any store selling wedding dresses you should close your eyes until you get past if you're not getting married within the next year. Don't torture yourself too early because you will end up finding something you really want. If you don't have the money saved up to buy it straight away you will feel bad for months. This doesn't apply if you can buy it straight away, but always remember your body might change a lot within the space of two years.

A discount is not always a good thing

I know you would like to save money, but you have to be careful because when a store starts offering a big discount it might tempt you to jump in and buy the wrong dress. Most of the dresses they offer at a heavily discounted price will be samples that have already been abused by hundreds of women. If you do decide to buy one of these dresses you must make sure you examine every part of the dress before you hand over any money.

It should be the right size

Do you know how many women say they are going to lose a lot of weight before their big day? Nearly every single person thinks they're going to float into the chapel 10lbs lighter, but many people don't. Buy a dress that fits your body on the day you buy it. This is important because even if you do lose some weight they will be able to take the dress in a few sizes. The opposite isn't true because they won't be able to let it out too many sizes.

Don't try on every dress in the shop

If you know anyone who has tried on hundreds of dresses they probably just fell in love with the shopping experience, but most of the ones they tried on wouldn't have been contenders. Don't let yourself fall into the same trap because you will confuse yourself by having too many options to choose from. You shouldn't need to try on more than 10 dresses and even that is pushing it. You should be able to tell whether or not you like the look of something before you put it on.

Don't forget to have fun

You should definitely have fun when you're shopping for a dress, but don't spend too long going from shop to shop because you have too many things to do. Try your hardest to find the perfect dress as soon as possible and then you can start looking forward to the big day.
