Tuesday Shoesday!

Christian Louboutin Peep Toe PumpsChristian Louboutin Crystal HeelI came across these peep-toe pumps and had to share them with you guys for Tuesday Shoesday! I can't even begin to describe how gorgeous these would look on your wedding day if you're looking for the perfect 'white' wedding shoes.

The slingback strap always seems to be a lot more comfortable than an actual pump, for some reason. Which is nice for all the walking you'll be doing for photos and going down aisles and such.

My favorite part about these shoes, however is the heel. How cute is that! The jewels all the way down the heel make for a gorgeous little flair on your wedding day.

Tuesday Shoesday - A Love Affair With Shoes

So this Tuesday Shoesday came quicker than usual! After the long weekend, it took me a little longer to find the perfect shoes for us this week but when I found them, I knew they were the ones! Now I will mention, that not everyone can wear bling wedding shoes, so these will take the fashion-forward bride to pull them off. If that's you, read on! These ones are beautiful.

I can just picture them sparkling underneath a wedding gown as the spunky bride makes her way down the aisle. These are shoes that just scream to be noticed.

Tuesday Shoesday!

Pink Bridal Shoes by Nina Women's Galvey Oh the time is here again to highlight some beautiful wedding shoes. This week, I chose to go with a subtle pink, because pink is a hot color in weddings right now and even if it's not part of your color scheme, any bride can pull off the hint of pink to add a little spunk to the dress.

Right now, pink is being paired with chocolate or aqua, and these would tie in the colors wonderfully! Even if you like the shoe, but not the pink-factor, Nina also makes them in ivory which any bride could love.  I adore the touch of ruffle on the backs to soften up the look and make them very cutesy.

Designer: Nina

Style: Galvey

Colors: Pink, Sage, and Ivory

Cost: $79.00 (see them here)

These adorable, bedazzled shoes would look gorgeous next to the groom's tux. Too black for your wedding day? They'd also be a beautiful accessory for the groom's dinner or engagement party. I'm sure you'd find something you could wear them to!

Wedding Announcements

Beach wedding announcementWedding Announcements

There are lots of reasons you probably won’t be able to invite all of your friends and family to your wedding! Some of the reasons include: yours is a destination wedding, budget constraints, the venue can only accommodate so many, or… you simply desire a “small and intimate” affair.

Even such, you can still include long-lost family and friends with a fun Wedding Announcement, customized in the spirit of your wedding! Without implication of gift, the purpose of a Wedding Announcement is to declare your nuptials and let those family and friends in on the happy news! And, although they are typically mailed the day of your wedding or the day after, Announcements can be sent for months after your big day.

What to include on your Wedding Announcement

Include your wedding date, a photo, new contact info… whatever you’d like. If yours is a destination wedding and you’re planning an “at home reception” then perhaps a Wedding Announcement would be the perfect way to announce the details of the party.

The design is up to you! Coordinate your Announcement with your Invitations or wedding theme or choose a design that is altogether different. I borrowed a Save the Date magnet design from MagnetStreet Weddings and used the Design Studio to customize the wording to create a unique wedding keepsake. What do you think?

Cheers and Happy Planning!

Winter Wedding Cake Toppers

When it comes to winter wedding cakes, there are many unique and unusual wedding cake toppers that incorporate the winter wedding theme. Consider the skiing couple shown in the photo below for example. This clever cake baker used round coconut-covered cake layers to act as the "snow" for the skiing wedding couple. By tilting the final layer, it looks as though the couple is skiing down the slopes. What a cute idea!

Other options for winter wedding cake toppers include things such as snow globes, wooden or metal sleds, and even crystal winter scenes. Hand-blown crystal cake toppers and decorative snow globes are keepsakes that can be cherished by the couple for years to come.

If you are a bit more whimsical, find a cute penguin or snowman couple that could sit atop your cake....or have your baker sculpt whimsical winter characters to top your wedding cake.  Finally if the groom is a sports fan, you could consider using mix and match bride and groom cake toppers where the groom is dressed as a hockey player (like this hockey player cake topper from Wedding Favors Unlimited).  When it comes to winter wedding cakes, the possibilities are endless!

Signature Photo Mat - A Great Guest Book Alternative!

Another great alternative to the traditional guest book is a photo mat where your guests leave their well wishes (be sure to check out my post about wishing trees for more ideas).  Inscribable Signature Metal Mat & Frame Kit like the one shown in the photo from the Weddingstar catalog are available with the couples’ names and the wedding date inscribed.   The great thing about metal mats is that the signatures won’t fade over time like they sometimes can with the cardboard mats (if the mat and ink used weren’t archive safe).  This particular mat is available in 3 sizes and arrives with an easy-to-use engraving scribe.  Guests simply sign the mat and then the happy couple can proudly display it in their home along with your wedding photograph.  This is one keepsake that you’ll cherish forever… the well wishes of friends and family surrounding a beautiful photo of you on your wedding day!

See how great a metal photo mat can be when it is used as a wedding “guest book” on this Youtube video.   The mat can then be framed along with a photo of the bride and groom.  Display it in the home by either hanging it on the wall or on a lovely easel.
